Description

Eastern Carpet Python on the move, showing off its blue forked tongue. When the weather warms up, in spring, snakes start to get more active. Pythons are non-venomous constricting snakes. There are 14 species of Python in Australia, Carpet Pythons are among the most common species, but they come in a wide range of varieties. They can grow up to 2.5m in length! They can be found in tree hollows, rock crevices and other natural hiding places but also in urban environments. This one was spotted in the rainforest, south-east Queensland, Australia.
