Description
Tawny Dragon showing off its beautiful colours. Tawny Dragons are a medium sized lizard and the males are very colourful. They have black areas on the side of the body, yellow to orange-red colour patches around the ears and back of the head and shoulders. The colour of their throat can vary, depending on location, from blue, orange and/or yellow to grey. They live in a rocky environment, seeking shelter in the crevices. Males can be seen perching on the rocks, looking out for rivals, as they are very territorial. Their distribution is limited mainly to the rocky ranges in South Australia. There are also some isolated population in New South Wales. Taken in South Australia, Australia.
