Artist's Description

From the top of Mt Ngungun, one of the Glass House Mountains, one has an amazing 360 degree view! Looking to the west Mt Coonowrin can be seen in front of Mt Beerwah. The Mountains are volcanic plugs which has created their odd shapes. The mountains are surrounded by Pine Forest Plantations. The area has cultural significance for the Aboriginal people. When you look closely you can see that Mt Coonowrin has a crooked top. The legend goes that this is because his father, Mt Tribogargan, hit his neck with a club when he refused to help his pregnant mother, Mt Beerwah, when the floods came.

'In the spirit of reconciliation I would like to acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Queensland and the rest of Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. I pay my respect to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today and in the...
