Description
Grey Mangrove Flat Roots and Pencil Roots. Mangrove roots create amazing natural abstracts! Mangroves are unusual trees because they tolerate the saltwater environment. Their pencil roots emerge from the mud like little snorkels to help them 'breathe' as the dense mud is deficient of oxygen. The wide spreading flat roots help them anchor and stay put during the tides. The Grey Mangrove is the most widespread mangrove species in Australia. Taken in south-east Queensland, Australia.
