Description
Grey Mangrove Roots Natural Abstract. Mangroves are unusual trees because they tolerate the saltwater environment. Their roots emerge from the mud like little snorkels to help them 'breathe' as the dense mud is deficient of oxygen. The Grey Mangrove is the most widespread mangrove species in Australia. Mangroves grow in intertidal zones on a range of soft muds to sandy soils. The light reflects from the ridges of mud, creating another pattern in this natural abstract. Taken in south-east Queensland, Australia.
