Description
Lewin's Honeyeater
The Lewin's Honeyeater is with 20cm one of the larger honeyeaters. It is mostly an olive-greenish brown and has a black bill extending a black stripe towards the grey-blue eye. A yellow stripe runs underneath and points towards a crescent shaped yellow ear patch, by which this bird is recognized.
Its favourite food is fruit, insects and nectar. These birds are native to eastern Australia and can be found in dense vegetation. Taken in south east Queensland, Australia.
