Mudskippers are territorial creatures and this one has taken a vantage point on a ridge in the mud from where it can keep an eye on its rivals.
Mudskippers can be seen on the mudflats during low tide. A Mudskipper is an amphibious fish which lives on the mudflats in the highest intertidal zone in the northern half of Australia. Mudskippers are really well camouflaged. Taken in north Queensland, Australia.
