Eastern Carpet Python curled up in a tree. It looks like it might be resting, but it's more likely it is on the hunt, lying in ambush. Pythons are non-venomous constricting snakes. There are 14 species of Python in Australia, Carpet Pythons are among the most common species, but they come in a wide range of varieties. They can grow quite large, about 2.5m in length! They can be found in tree hollows, rock crevices and other natural hiding places. They also thrive in urban environments and can often occupy the rafters of houses. Not so bad, as they will keep your place rodent-free!
