Description
Rainbow Skink.
There are a number of species of Rainbow Skinks in Australia. With 7cm this is one of the larger ones. Carlia schmeltziii is known by the common name of Schmeltz's Rainbow Skink. Some resources refer to this species as Robust Rainbow Skink, which is actually a slightly different species (Carlia sexdentata), so it can get a bit confusing. Rainbow skinks can be recognized by their orange coloured flanks. This species can be found along the east coast of Queensland.
Taken in north Queensland, Australia.
