Taking the 4WD from Noosa to Rainbow beach one passes the Red Canyon on Teewah Beach. The eroding red coloured sands from the canyon spill out on the beach here. The dark clouds with showers in the sunlight add a dramatic effect.
This part of the Great Sandy National Park is called the Cooloola section and stretches from Noosa to Rainbow Beach, the other section is Fraser Island.
