Description
The Red-Triangle Slug is Australia’s largest native land slug and can grow up to 15cm!. They come in a variety of colours, including white, creamy-white, yellow, grey, pink, red and olive-green, but they all have the same red markings on the edges of the foot and the triangular shaped mantle. A breathing pore is visible in the triangle. The slug has one pair of tentacles.
The slug lives in rainforest, woodland and heath. During the day it buries under logs or rocks in moist areas. At night and during wet weather it can be found crawling on trees. They graze on microscopic algae and moss. Its range is east coast of Australia, In Queensland and New South Wales.
