Description
Shining Bronze-Cuckoo
The Shining Bronze-Cuckoo is a small cuckoo that can be spotted in wooded habitats in eastern Australia, as well as a part of South Australia and the south-west of Western Australia. It has bronze coloured upper parts with a stunning iridescent green gloss. Its underparts are white with brown bars and the face is a bit mottled brown. It has a white ring around the eye. Being a Cuckoo, it lays its eggs in the nests of other small birds. It feeds mainly on caterpillars that it finds in the canopies of the trees.
Taken in south-east Queensland, Australia.
