Description
Watch it! I've been working out! Eastern Water Dragon male - Intellagama lesueurii - showing off his red muscular chest to defend his territory and female.
This large lizard can grow up to a metre in length! They are native to eastern Australia and are commonly seen along waterways in natural and urban areas. To avoid danger they can submerge themselves for up to an hour! Water Dragons have a olive to grey/brown colour with black stripes along their back and tail. They also have a distinct black strip from their eye to their neck. The males develop a bright red pigment on their chest.
Taken in south east Queensland, Australia.
