Description
Silvereyes having a splash. This group of Silvereyes is bathing in the rainwater puddles, alongside some Red-browed Finches, of which you can see one in the background. They are splashing away and shaking their feathers, creating lots of water drops in the air around them.
Silvereyes are small birds in the group of white-eyes. They have a grey back, an olive-green head and wings and a prominent ring of white feathers around their eyes. Silvereyes can be found in eastern and southern Australia in any type of woodland. They feed on insects, fruit and nectar. This image was taken in south-east Queensland.
