Australian Brush-turkey, taking a dust bath. The Australian Brush-turkey is a large flying ground-bird. Feathers are mostly black, although some lighter ones can be seen on the underparts. The head is naked and bright red. The bird has yellow wattles. Brush-turkeys live in forests in eastern Australia, but have also adapted to urban areas. They rake the forest floor with their feet to create huge mounds for nesting. The birds feed on insects, seeds and fallen fruits. Taken in south-east Queensland, Australia.
