The Eastern Water Dragon is a large lizard that can grow up to a metre in length! It is native to eastern Australia and commonly seen along waterways in natural and urban areas. To avoid danger Water Dragons can submerge themselves for up to an hour! They have a olive to grey/brown colour with black stripes along their back and tail. They also have a distinct black stripe from their eye to their neck. The males develop a bright red pigment on their chest. Taken in south east Queensland, Australia.
