Ready to snooze. Koala settling in between thee branches of a Gum Tree, getting ready for a nap. Koalas have mastered the art of looking comfortable in really uncomfortable positions! Do you ever wonder how they manage to sleep like that and not fall out of the tree? Either way, they do sleep like this, out of reach from danger and they spend the better part of their days snoozing like that!
Koalas can be found in open woodlands in coastal areas of eastern and southern Australia. Koalas are an iconic Australian species. Despite their popularity they are a threatened species and need all the help they can get! Taken in south east Queensland, Australia.

Numbers of this beautiful animal are seriously declining and they have finally been listed as endangered in 2022. I am so grateful to live in an area where there are still a few and you can imagine how special it is each time I see one. I am so happy to be able to share my images with you.
