Sand Art Series - Crab Art. Sand Bubbler Crabs live in burrows in the sand. During low tide they come out of their hiding places and feed by filtering sand through their mouth parts, eating the plankton and detritus. They discard the sand in the form of little balls and as they move around they create beautiful patterns on the beach! They are called Bubbler Crabs because they wait out high tide in their burrows in an air bubble.
