Young Koala looks a bit wistful as she looks out over the landscape around her which is destroyed by the recent floodwaters. Many trees have broken off or have been uprooted and have fallen completely. The tree she's in is one of the few trees that remain standing. Maybe her favourite tree has gone missing??
Koalas can be found in open woodlands in coastal areas of eastern and southern Australia. Koalas are an iconic Australian species. Despite their popularity they are an endangered species and need all the help they can get! Taken in south east Queensland, Australia.
Numbers of this beautiful animal are seriously declining and they have finally been listed as endangered in 2022. I am so grateful to live in an area where there are still a few and you can imagine how special it is each time I see one. I am so happy to be able to share my images with you.
