Australian Pelicans in Flight
Flock of Australian Pelicans flying overhead against a stunning blue sky. Australian Pelicans are very large birds, measuring up to 1.9m., with a wing span of 2.5 m.! They are mainly white, with black tips on their wing- and tail feather. Their enormous bill is 40-50cm long and has a pouch which can hold 13 litres of water! They use it to locate and catch fish in murky water. A flock of these birds is truly an impressive sight!
