Description
Australian Ringneck feeding, quietly blending in with the green vegetation.
The Australian Ringneck is a long-tailed green Parrot. It has a yellow ring on the back of the neck. Australian Ringnecks occur in 4 forms. This is the Mallee from (subspecies barnardi), which can be seen in outback woodlands north-east of the Flinders Ranges up to Windorah in Queensland. This form is recognisable by the green head and indigo back.. It has a red patch just above the beak. They are found in pairs or small flocks and feed quietly on seeds, fruits, flowers, nectar and insects. Taken in south-west Queensland.

Beautiful capture! So lovely to see this bird in the wild. I had a pair for a number of years. They lived into their mid twenties. I do miss them very much! l/f/t
