Description
Caterpillar of the Common Crow, a common butterfly in large areas of Australia. The butterflies have dark brown wings with white spots. The caterpillars are brightly orange coloured with white spots on the side, black tentacles, a black and white head and black feet. They feed on plants with milky sap, such as Oleander and Fig Trees. This one is munching on the leaf of a Fig Tree, the pattern of the veins in the leaf beautifully shown in this image. Taken in south east Queensland, Australia.
