Description
Purple-clawed Crab
Crab with stunning purple pincers, hanging out in a little rock pool on the mudflats at low tide. The crab is black and its back is mottled with teal coloured blobs, really quite beautiful. The legs are black.
It scoops up mud with its claws and filters out the edible bits in its mouth and disposes of the sand. Taken in tropical north Queensland, Australia
